Greetings River Valley!
We are 40 Days away from our "40 Days of Community" church-wide event! Some of you may have heard it mentioned in passing a couple times and some of you may be thinking..."What is that?" Good question. Forty Days of Community is organized to serve as a catalyst to our four strategies. Worship, Small Groups, Spiritual Practices, and being on Mission will all be emphasized during this campaign and strengthen not only our church as a whole, but also each individual person in their spiritual growth.
 As a church we will Worship together. In Small Groups, we will seek to understand what it means to "love my neighbor as myself" and apply it through Missions. Lastly, our Spiritual Practices will be developed or strengthened through a daily devotional that will coincide with what we learn in our small groups and at church on Sunday mornings.

These four strategies are the very heart of our Church, but cannot be done outside of the power of God. Each week you will receive an e-mail that will build anticipation and help you prepare for "40 Days of Community." We ask that you devote time to prayer for this campaign. We are excited about what God will do and want you to be involved every step of the way. In the weeks to follow, we will provide you with different things that you can be praying for.
This week, pray above all that God would be actively involved in this endeavor and that everything would be done for His glory rather than our own. Mention the four strategies individually, and as you pray remember that it is our goal to see "40 Days of Community" serve as a catalyst for those strategies.
This is not merely a six week adventure; this is six weeks of intense focus on these strategies so that we might have a deeper understanding of their importance in our spiritual journey with our Awesome God!
